Help Guide for Internet Access to My Virtual Workplace

You may be experiencing problems logging in if you are trying to access My Virtual Workplace from your FAVORITES list or from an ICON saved on your desktop.

The solution to this problem is to click on the Add to Favorites link on the login page and override the old link to My Virtual Workplace. If you have a an icon saved on you desktop, right click on the icon and click on properties. Then remove anything in the URL after .org.

The problem occurs when users save the URL for "My Virtual Workplace" to their Favorites but while doing so also saved excess information that is automatically added to the end of the URL, as shown in the following example:

This excess information is no longer valid after a period of time, thus users are presented with a message stating that their "information is not recognized".

Solutions to Common Technical Issues
Because of the variety and the breadth of unique configurations for computers, Centura Health cannot provide direct support for personal computers that are accessing this site over the Internet. This guide has been prepared to assist users that are attempting to access My Virtual Workplace using computers, such as home or physician office computers, that were not purchased or installed by Centura Health.

You may be able to resolve many of the technical issues you are experiencing by reviewing the following.
  1. Review the Minimum Requirements table below.
  2. If you are using Internet Explorer 6 as your web browser, add https://www.myvirtualworkplace.org to your Trusted sites list.  
  3. If you've added https://www.myvirtualworkplace.org to the Trusted sites list and you still cannot log in, set your Internet Explorer "Security Settings" under Tools/Internet Options/Security/Custom Level to:
    • User Authentication - Automatic Logon with current username and password
  4. Check for and remove all spy-ware and ad-ware from your PC. For assistance on doing this, please refer to the following article: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/default.mspx
  5. Make sure your computer is current on all high priority Microsoft Updates.
  6. Disable any pop-up blockers (i.e. Ad Zapper, AD Destroyer, Toolbars –AOL, Yahoo!, MSN, WinXP SP2).

MEDITECH requirements – in addition to MVW Minimum Requirements

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6 (IE version 5.5 and version 7 are not supported)
  • Administrative rights on the PC (rights to install software)
  • Citrix ICA Web Client version 8.0 or higher (installed the first time you click on MEDITECH)
Fuji/PACS requirements – in addition to MVW Minimum Requirements
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6 (IE version 5.5 and version 7 are not supported)
  • Administrative rights on the PC (rights to install software)
  • Microsoft XP SP2 Professional (Windows XP Home Edition is not supported for PACS)
  • High resolution monitor for viewing PACS images (supporting 1024 x 768 resolution or better)
  • 24 or 32 bit color supported video card for PACS images
  • No support for Macintosh (PACS only)
  • 1 GB RAM
  • Download Speed - Minimum 1Mb/s

 
 

Listed below are reasons why you may need to reset you password:
  • You are a new user – new users that have not logged onto the network before cannot log into the portal without first changing their password.
  • Your password expired - all passwords expire after 90 days
  • You have to change your password at next login
  • You've recieved the following error: The Username or Password you've entered is not recognized by our system.
  • You forgot your password
  • Your account is locked out
